Mohamed Salah continues to make history for Liverpool, scoring his 50th European goal in a 2-1 win over Lille, ensuring the team’s spot in the Champions League last 16.

Salah, who has been in exceptional form this season, now has 22 goals in 31 matches across all competitions and has provided 17 assists.

His total of 39 goal involvements is the highest in Europe’s top five leagues, underscoring his pivotal role in Liverpool’s attacking play.

The Egyptian forward’s 50th European goal came with a composed finish, as he latched onto a brilliant through ball from Curtis Jones, lifting the ball over Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier.

Of those 50 goals, 44 have come in the Champions League, five in the Europa League, and one during Champions League qualifying matches.

Salah now holds the record as Liverpool’s all-time leading European goalscorer, and with 20 Champions League goals at Anfield, he is one of the top scorers in the competition at a specific venue, alongside Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero and Manchester United’s Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock praised Salah’s confidence, stating, “There has always been a smile on Salah’s face, but it’s the belief in himself that he will score every time.”
