Parliament has approved the first batch of ministers nominated by President John Mahama following their successful vetting by the Appointments Committee.
The approval came after the Committee unanimously recommended Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ajumako-Enyan-Esiam and Majority Leader; John Jinapor, MP for Yapei-Kusawgu; and Dr. Dominic Ayine, MP for Bolgatanga East, for their respective ministerial roles.
The motion for their approval was debated in Parliament on Tuesday, January 21, with the Second Deputy Speaker, Andrew Asiamah Amoako, presiding over the session.
Following extensive deliberations, both the Majority and Minority caucuses agreed that the three nominees had demonstrated the competence and leadership required for their positions, based on their past performance.
The Second Deputy Speaker confirmed the appointments, with Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson being approved as Minister of Finance, John Jinapor as Minister of Energy, and Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice.
