Manchester United have rejected an approach from Napoli for young winger Alejandro Garnacho.

The Italian side, who are poised to receive a significant transfer fee for the highly sought-after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, have identified Garnacho as their top target.

However, Napoli’s initial offer for the 20-year-old Argentinian fell significantly short of United’s valuation.

While United are open to selling academy products to fund their squad rebuild under manager Ruben Amorim, they are not actively encouraging bids for key players like Garnacho and England midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

Speaking on Wednesday, Amorim expressed confidence in Garnacho’s future at Old Trafford. “That is clear. He has talent,” Amorim said. “I think he changed the way he sees himself. He’s finding the best way to play in this system and is improving during training.”

This development comes as Napoli seeks to reinvest the substantial funds expected from the sale of Kvaratskhelia, who is reportedly on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain.
