- Crabbe warns that the NPP’s internal disunity and lack of cohesive strategy eroded its electoral strength
Former NPP Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe has blamed the party’s poor performance in the 2024 general elections on weakened structures, internal disunity, and a growing disconnect with grassroots members.
Crabbe pointed to disillusionment among members, noting that many no longer feel motivated to support the party due to unmet expectations. He highlighted how the leadership’s perceived distance and failure to address grassroots concerns have eroded loyalty.
“The party cannot expect sacrifices from members who don’t believe their efforts will yield personal or collective benefits,” he warned, adding, “You can’t just keep postponing solutions and hope things will work out.”
The NPP lost both the presidency and parliamentary majority to the NDC, retaining only 88 seats in parliament—a stark indication of its declining influence.
