The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is contesting the declared outcomes of the parliamentary elections in Obuasi East, Ahafo Ano North, and Ahafo Ano South West constituencies.

Speaking in an interview on January 15, Ashanti Regional Chairman Augustus Nana Akwasi Andrews expressed confidence in the party’s legal challenge. He stated that the NDC expects the court to overturn the Electoral Commission’s (EC) declarations after reviewing the case.

The EC had announced the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidates—Patrick Boakye-Yiadom, Eric Nana Agyemang-Prempeh, and Elvis Osei Mensah Dapaah—as winners in the disputed constituencies on December 21, 2024, following a recount and re-collation process mandated by the High Court.

The NDC has vowed to pursue the case until what it considers justice is achieved.
