Former GFA Executive Council member, Osei Kwaku Palmer, has strongly advocated for the dismissal of Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo.
Palmer expressed his dissatisfaction with Addo’s performance, stating that the coach’s record does not warrant continued employment. Since his reappointment, Addo has overseen a disappointing run, winning only two of his ten matches in charge.
“There is no justification for keeping Otto Addo as the Black Stars coach,” Palmer declared. “His performance has been below expectations.”
Palmer emphasized that the decision to retain or dismiss Addo should rest solely with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and not be influenced by any external pressures, particularly from the government.
“The GFA must take responsibility and make a definitive decision regarding Otto Addo’s future,” Palmer stressed. “The only appropriate course of action is to terminate his contract.”
This call for Addo’s dismissal comes after the Black Stars’ disastrous 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, where they failed to win a single match.
