A heated confrontation between two taxi drivers in Agona Swedru, Central Region, has turned fatal.

Alex Amihere, a driver, allegedly struck his 26-year-old colleague, Evans Owusu, with a wheel spanner, leading to his death.

The altercation occurred at their workplace in the Agona West Municipality. Reports indicate that the dispute escalated, culminating in Amihere using the wheel spanner as a weapon.

Evans Owusu sustained severe injuries and was rushed to multiple hospitals, including the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The victim’s father, Stephen Owusu, recounted the failed efforts to save his son and called on the Ghana Police Service to arrest the suspect and ensure justice is served.

In a heart-wrenching revelation, Lydia Andoh, the sister-in-law of the deceased, shared that the attack caused fatal brain damage.

This tragic incident has left the community in shock as investigations continue.
