Sammy Awuku Steps Down as NLA Boss

Sammy Awuku, the Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), has officially announced his resignation, effective January 13, 2025.
In a letter addressed to President John Dramani Mahama, Awuku explained that his election as the Member of Parliament for Akuapem North necessitates his decision to step down.
Awuku’s tenure at the NLA, which began in August 2021, concludes with his expressed dedication to his new parliamentary role. “In light of this new responsibility, I wish to focus my efforts on serving as a Member of Parliament,” he wrote.
He also urged the prompt appointment of a successor to ensure a smooth transition and effective management of the NLA’s operations.
