Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has traveled to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, for this year’s Islamic pilgrimage, Hajj.

Accompanied by his wife, Samira, they are joining thousands of Ghanaians and millions of Muslims globally in this sacred ritual.

Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, represents a key act of devotion and submission to the will of Allah.

Dr. Bawumia shared the news on his official Facebook, expressing his gratitude to Allah for His grace, while also praying for divine guidance and protection for all Ghanaians and the country as a whole.

Together with Hajia Samira Bawumia and some friends, I arrived in Mecca yesterday to perform Umrah (Islamic Pilgrimage to Mecca). This is to thank the Almighty Allah for His grace. We also prayed for guidance and protection for us and for our nation, Ghana.
