Mahama Calls Crisis Meeting to Address Looming ‘Dumsor’ Threat

The former Deputy Energy Minister and MP for Yapei-Kusawgu, John Abdulai Jinapor, has revealed that President John Mahama has directed the Chief of Staff to convene an emergency meeting with key stakeholders in the power sector to tackle an imminent energy crisis.

“At 10 a.m. today, His Excellency the President instructed the Chief of Staff to chair a meeting involving all stakeholders,” Jinapor stated.

The gathering will bring together representatives from power generation companies across the country to strategize on stabilizing electricity supply and averting a return to ‘dumsor.’ Jinapor attributed the urgency to the previous government’s failure to secure adequate fuel for power generation.
