Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has admitted that even a player of Mohamed Salah’s caliber would struggle to thrive in the current state of his team.

Despite Salah’s impressive form for Liverpool, Postecoglou believes that the Egyptian international would find it difficult to replicate his success in the current Tottenham side, which is struggling to find consistency and is currently out of form.

“Mo is a world-class player, but if you put him in our team now I’m not sure he’ll have that same level of performance because of the situation we’re in as a group,” Postecoglou said.

The Tottenham manager highlighted the importance of a strong team foundation, emphasizing that individual brilliance can only shine when supported by a cohesive unit.

Postecoglou also acknowledged that Son Heung-min, despite a recent dip in form, remains a valuable asset to the team.

He emphasized that Son’s current performance does not reflect his true ability, attributing it to the team’s overall struggles.

Tottenham will face Liverpool in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday.
