NAPO is the Worst Vice Presidential Candidate in Ghana’s History – Blind Historian Bulgaria
Bulgaria Critiques NPP’s Vice Presidential Candidate and Predicts Party’s Return to Power in 2032

- Bulgaria describes Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the worst running mate in NPP history
- He urges the NPP to reconsider its 2028 presidential candidacy strategy
- Bulgaria predicts NPP will return to power in 2032, not 2028
Afari Duodu, widely known as ‘Bulgaria’ and hailed as a walking encyclopedia of Ghanaian politics and history, has strongly criticized Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, describing him as the worst running mate in the history of Ghana and the NPP.
Speaking on the Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen Morning Show, Bulgaria confidently stated that, despite his limited exposure to previous vice presidents like Kow Nkensen Arkaah, he firmly believes that Dr. Prempeh’s tenure has been the least effective in the party’s history as compared to Alhaji Aliu Mahama and Dr Bawumia.
He stated that Napo’s public claim that the NDC was responsible for the death of Evangelist Amoako was unnecessary and illogical, as the prophet passed away on March 26, 1990, long before the NDC was even established
He predicted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not regain power in the 2028 election. According to him, the NPP’s return to power is more likely in 2032.
Bulgaria explained that based on historical trends, he could not identify the ideal candidate for the NPP in the next election. However, he stated that it would not be a bad idea if Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia were given another chance.
“Bawumia deserves another opportunity, and it wouldn’t be a bad idea if the NPP gave him that chance,” he said.
Bulgaria clarified that President Akufo-Addo did not impose Dr. Bawumia as the NPP’s candidate for the 2024 election, nor did he offer him special support during the party’s presidential primaries.
Regarding the NPP’s parliamentary candidates who lost in the recent elections, Bulgaria argued that their defeats were not a reflection of the party’s problems, but rather a result of their lack of effort in securing their seats.
