Kofi Adams, Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, mocked the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stating that they have now become the Minority “Nketenkete” following their shocking defeat in the December 7 elections.

“We know who the majority and minority are now,” Adams said, reminding everyone that the NDC holds the majority in the 9th Parliament, an unprecedented achievement in Ghana’s history after the NPP’s 1992 boycott.

Adams mocked Majority Leader Afenyo-Markin, teasing the NPP for now being the Minority “Nketenkete” after they had previously ridiculed John Mahama’s plan to create jobs for the youth by providing ‘nkoko neketetenkete.’

In an interview on the Ghana Se Sen Show on Lawson TV/Radio, Adams pointed out that the NDC MPs are fully prepared to honor Speaker Alban Bagbin’s call to reconvene Parliament today.

He emphasized that while the NDC is ready to engage in parliamentary business, their focus will be on initiatives that benefit national development.

Adams urged the NPP MPs to attend Parliament to discuss the 2025 budget but warned that if they fail to show up, the NDC will still form a working quorum, although no decisions can be made without the presence of the NPP.

He further highlighted that their absence would ultimately reflect poorly on the ruling government.
