Mr. Thomas Kusi Boafo, CEO of Public Sector Reforms at the Office of the President, has disclosed that he has signed over 50 contracts since assuming his role, each aimed at revolutionizing public service delivery in Ghana.
Speaking on Lawson TV/Radio’s Ghana Se Sen Morning Show with Kwame Tanko, he highlighted key initiatives, including the implementation of a groundbreaking system where every child receives an identification number from birth a policy aptly termed “From the Womb to the Tomb.”
Mr.Kusi Boafo also recounted reforms at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
He revealed that upon discovering driver’s licenses were being printed by a private individual from his home, he tasked the DVLA to procure a state-of-the-art American machine for in-house production.
“This eliminated the activities of goro boys at the DVLA, ensuring efficiency and security,” he noted.
Inspired by lessons from Rwanda’s public sector, Mr. Kusi Boafo believes Ghana can surpass Rwanda in overall governance.
“We excel in humanity, but Rwanda lead in discipline. To prevent theft, only 20% of money should circulate physically,” he suggested.
He expressed optimism about Ghana’s future, emphasizing his determination to transition the country from outdated systems to modern, efficient practices.
