Alhaji Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, the Member of Parliament for Asawase and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate, has reaffirmed his commitment to a peaceful electoral process in the constituency.

On Thursday, November 18, Muntaka took an oath in the presence of traditional and religious leaders, security agencies, and Electoral Commission officials, pledging to uphold peace throughout the upcoming December elections.

He stressed his commitment to preserving the integrity of the electoral process, vowing to refrain from any actions that might incite violence or disrupt the Electoral Commission’s work.

Muntaka also called on his New Patriotic Party (NPP) opponent, Manaf Ibrahim, to publicly commit to peace, ensuring a smooth and orderly election. He clarified that violence extends beyond physical intimidation, emphasizing that any interference with the Electoral Commission’s work or collusion to skew results would be equally harmful.

“I swear not to interfere with the Electoral Commission and to respect the electoral laws,” Muntaka vowed, reaffirming his dedication with a solemn oath before God.

Expressing his readiness to accept the election results, Muntaka also conveyed his deep gratitude to the people of Asawase for re-electing him as their representative for five consecutive terms. This gesture is seen as a key step in promoting peace in a constituency often identified as an electoral hotspot.
