A Nigerian woman has shared her heart-wrenching story about how a friend’s influence brought her to Ghana with hopes of work, only to find herself trapped in addiction.
Sophia Anijoke, a graduate of Senior High School in Lagos State, initially pursued a university education but had to drop out due to financial constraints.
In an interview with Kwame Tanko on the Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen Morning show, she revealed that her friend convinced her to come to Ghana for job opportunities. However, her reality turned out to be drastically different.
Sophia Anijoke explained that upon arriving in Ghana, her friend encouraged her to wear revealing clothing, which made her realize they intended to involve her in prostitution.
She said it was also during this time that her friend introduced her to cocaine.
