56 Illegal Miners Arrested in Tarkwa-Nsuaem Crackdown
Joint Security Forces Seize Equipment and Expand Operations in Ahanta West and Mpohor

In a major crackdown on illegal mining, a joint security operation led by personnel from the Second Infantry Battalion, the Police, and the Western Naval Command apprehended 56 illegal miners at Kadadwen in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality on Thursday, March 13.
The operation, carried out across seven mining sites, resulted in the arrest of 47 men and nine women, who have been handed over to the Western Regional Police Command for further processing.
Beyond Tarkwa-Nsuaem, the security forces extended their efforts to the Ahanta West Municipality and Mpohor District, where illegal miners fled upon their arrival, leaving behind abandoned pits and mining equipment.
Authorities seized three motorbikes, nine pumping machines, and three excavators while destroying 25 Changfang machines.
