Former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah has told an Accra High Court that her domestic workers not only stole cash but also jewellery worth $53,000, along with other prized possessions accumulated over three decades.

Testifying for the first time on Tuesday, March 11, she recounted how her valuables were gradually taken from her Abelemkpe residence.

The accused, 18-year-old Patience Botwe and 30-year-old Sarah Agyei, are on trial for stealing cash, luxury clothing, and other items worth millions of cedis.

Investigations revealed that the stolen funds were used to acquire properties and high-end goods.

The case, which sparked public scrutiny over Mrs. Dapaah’s finances, also led to a failed probe by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) into the source of the funds discovered in her home.
