A tragic incident has shaken the farming community of Juaboso Nkwanta in the Western North Region, as a 75-year-old farmer, Kwabena Kyei, lost his life after being attacked by a swarm of bees.
Reports indicate that the elderly farmer left for his farmland on Saturday, March 8, but failed to return home after several hours. Concerned family members alerted the local chiefs and authorities, prompting a search operation.
Despite their efforts on Sunday, March 9, he was not found. It was only after an extensive search on Monday, March 10, that his lifeless body was discovered in the bush, covered in bees, near a honey production site.
Before transporting the body to the Juaboso Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and further investigation, traditional authorities performed rituals at the scene.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
