Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has confirmed that President John Dramani Mahama has instructed an immediate reversal of all land allocations and sales involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ablakwa explained that this decision was made to protect state assets and prevent further encroachment on public lands.
In a post on Facebook on Wednesday, March 5, Ablakwa shared that the directive specifically applies to lands adjacent to the Foreign Affairs Ministry in the Airport Residential area. These lands had reportedly been allocated to seven organizations and individuals under the previous administration.
“The presidential directive issued yesterday ensures that the land adjacent to the Ministry at Airport Residential, which was claimed by seven organizations and individuals as new owners, will now be canceled and preserved for the people of Ghana,” he said.
The Minister also expressed his profound gratitude to President Mahama for his swift and decisive action to safeguard state resources.
He praised the President’s leadership, calling it a clear demonstration of patriotic commitment to ensuring that the Foreign Ministry retains control over its lands.
“I am deeply thankful to President Mahama for his steadfast and patriotic support,” Ablakwa concluded.
