A violent storm swept through the Amakye Bare community in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, leaving a trail of destruction.
The storm, accompanied by heavy rain, lasted only five minutes but wreaked havoc, reducing more than 300 houses to rubble and injuring several residents. Five individuals sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for medical care.
Residents are devastated, with properties worth thousands of Ghana cedis lost. Many families have been left homeless, struggling to pick up the pieces.
In the wake of the disaster, affected individuals are calling on the government for urgent relief support, including temporary shelter and essential supplies, to aid their recovery.
