President John Dramani Mahama has commended the steady progress of Ghana’s constitutional review process and reaffirmed his government’s commitment to its success.

Speaking on Tuesday, March 4, during the maiden stakeholder engagement with the Constitution Review Committee, Mahama praised the efforts of the eight-member team led by Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh. The meeting provided an opportunity for the committee to update the President on their work and seek his perspectives on key areas for amendment.

Mahama emphasized the need to address critical governance issues, including the election of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), the emoluments of Article 71 office holders, and the appointment of Ministers from Parliament. He assured the committee of his administration’s unwavering support in ensuring meaningful reforms.
