A suspect has been brought before the Teshie District Court in connection with the murder of Naa Borley Nelson, also known as Naa Gamu, the queen mother of the Ga Adangme Muslim Union.
Samuel Adjei has been charged with unlawful possession of firearms and murder.
However, the court did not take his plea and remanded him into police custody, with a scheduled reappearance set for March 12.
The adjournment will allow the police more time to investigate the incident and prepare a duplicate docket for the Attorney General’s review.
Naa Gamu was tragically shot during her enskinment (coronation) ceremony in Nungua, Accra, last Saturday.
The fatal shot was fired from a musket during the ceremony, hitting her in the thigh.
