  • Ghanaians deserve a clear roadmap for economic recovery and governance
  • The NDC will not remain silent on exposing past administration failures

President John Dramani Mahama is set to deliver the much-anticipated State of the Nation Address (SONA) today, Thursday, February 27.

Ahead of the address, Hon. Fredrick Yaw Ahenkwah, Member of Parliament for Jaman North, has outlined his expectations for Mahama’s speech.

Speaking on the Lawson TV/Radio Ghana Se Sen Morning Show, Hon. Ahenkwah emphasized that Mahama must acknowledge that power changed hands just two months ago. He urged the president to clearly state where he inherited the country from, where it stands now, and his roadmap for the future.

The MP specifically called on Mahama to address the energy crisis, commonly referred to as dumsor, which he claims the new administration inherited. He believes Ghanaians deserve full disclosure on the current state of affairs and what the government is doing to resolve the challenges.

Hon. Ahenkwah also compared Mahama’s governance record to that of former President Akufo-Addo, asserting that despite only four years in office, Mahama performed better than Akufo-Addo’s eight-year tenure. However, he argued that the previous Mahama administration was unfairly tarnished by NPP propaganda.

He concluded by stating that the NDC will not remain silent this time. Instead, they will actively expose the challenges left behind by the NPP government and ensure that Ghanaians are fully informed.
