NPP Uses One Month to Probe 2024 Election Defeat – Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu
Party Conducts Extensive Investigation into Voter Sentiments in Ashanti Region

- A committee visited two constituencies per day to gather voter feedback
- Unlike 2008, voters openly shared reasons for voting against NPP
- Electorate signals a possible comeback if party implements necessary changes
The Ashanti Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) spent a month investigating its unexpected defeat in the 2024 general elections, according to former Majority Leader in Parliament, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.
Speaking on the Ghana Se Sen Morning Show on Lawson TV/Radio, he admitted the loss was significant, necessitating an immediate probe to understand the electorate’s decision.
“A committee was tasked to visit approximately two constituencies per day, and they have done an extensive job,” he revealed.
Comparing the defeat to 2008, Hon. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu noted a striking difference in voter sentiment.
“Back then, people in Kumasi claimed they didn’t vote for the NDC, but this time, they are eager to explain why they voted against us. Some of the reasons were unexpected, but they have assured us that if we change, they will consider bringing us back in 2028.”
