Deputy Minority Whip Habib Iddrisu has urged Deputy Minister-designate for Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, to approach his new role with seriousness and dedication.

During Dumelo’s vetting before Parliament’s Appointments Committee on Tuesday, February 25, Iddrisu cautioned the nominee against carrying a showbiz mindset into governance.

“You are not in your movie industry,” he remarked, emphasizing the need for Dumelo to support the Minister for Agriculture with diligence and professionalism.

Iddrisu further advised Dumelo to focus on assisting his superior, as the ministry is vast and requires teamwork for success.

Meanwhile, Dumelo, nominated as Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture, has expressed his passion for inspiring Ghanaians to pursue their dreams. Reflecting on his journey in acting, business, and politics, he acknowledged his achievements in the entertainment and business sectors while striving for greater impact in politics.

“I want to inspire people to follow their passion and do it well,” Dumelo stated.
