The Ministry for the Interior has renewed the curfew in Bawku Municipality and surrounding areas in the Upper East Region through an Executive Instrument.

The revised curfew hours, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM, will take effect on Monday, February 24, 2025, according to a statement issued on the same day by Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak.

The government has called on chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and residents to remain calm during the ongoing challenges and focus on peaceful conflict resolution.

In addition to the curfew, a total ban has been enforced on the possession of arms, ammunition, and offensive weapons within the affected areas.

Authorities have made it clear that anyone found with such weapons will face arrest and prosecution.
