An elevated section of a highway under construction collapsed in Anseong, South Korea, resulting in the deaths of four workers and injuries to six others.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, around 9:49 am (00:49 GMT), when five steel structures, each 50 meters (164 feet) long, supporting a highway bridge gave way, trapping the 10 workers on-site.
The site is located approximately 65 kilometers (40 miles) south of Seoul.
The cause of the collapse remains under investigation, with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport sending a team to the scene.
Hyundai Engineering, the company responsible for the construction, expressed condolences for the loss of life and injuries, vowing to cooperate fully with authorities to determine the cause and assist with recovery efforts.
In response to the disaster, Acting President Choi Sang-mok ordered the mobilization of all available resources to aid rescue operations and implement safety measures to prevent further incidents.
