$1.7B Needed to Revive Stalled Agenda 111 Hospitals – Mahama Calls for Support

President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that his government will require a staggering $1.7 billion to complete the unfinished Agenda 111 hospital projects.
Speaking at a meeting with the Christian Council, Mahama lamented that nearly 90 of the hospitals initiated under the previous administration remain incomplete, with some commissioned facilities lacking essential equipment like hospital beds.
“The previous government started Agenda 111 but has not been able to finish the hospitals. There are so many of them unfinished. Even the ones they commissioned don’t have a single bed. Now, we need $1.7 billion to complete them,” he stated.
To accelerate progress, he proposed a partnership with religious bodies, suggesting that mission hospitals could take over some of the projects and manage them to enhance healthcare delivery.
“If the missions have a hospital in an area, we are not coming to compete with them. We will use the resources to improve mission hospitals so they can provide the needed services. Some of the missions could also take over and complete some of these hospitals,” he added.
Mahama reassured that under his leadership, all stalled projects would be revived to meet the healthcare needs of Ghanaians.
