Former Assin Central MP and businessman, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has thrown his weight behind calls for an expansion of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) electoral college to increase inclusivity and youth participation.
Speaking at a TESCON Freshers’ Orientation and General Meeting at the College of Health and Well-Being, Kintampo, in the Bono East Region on February 22, 2025, Agyapong emphasized the critical role of TESCON—the student wing of the NPP—in shaping the party’s future.
He expressed deep appreciation for their commitment and urged them to remain steadfast in their efforts to help the party reclaim power in 2028.
He further reiterated his support for increasing TESCON’s voting rights from two to five per institution and advocated granting voting rights to all executives of accredited TESCON branches in national elections. According to him, broadening the party’s electoral college would enhance participation, reduce voter apathy, and strengthen democracy within the NPP.
Later that day, Agyapong addressed a youth entrepreneurship forum at Chesville Hotel, Sunyani, where he inspired young Ghanaians to pursue entrepreneurship as a solution to unemployment. He shared insights from his personal journey, stressing the importance of goal-setting, strategic planning, integrity, and hard work in achieving success.
