The funeral, set to take place at 1 pm (11:00 GMT) on Sunday, will be held at the Camille Chamoun sports stadium on the outskirts of Beirut, with tens of thousands of people expected to attend.

Nasrallah, who was temporarily buried alongside his son Hadi, who died in 1997, will be interred at a dedicated site nearby.

Hezbollah has announced stringent security measures to manage the large crowds anticipated from across Lebanon and abroad, particularly from Hezbollah strongholds.

In response to the event, Lebanon’s civil aviation authorities have announced the closure of Beirut’s airport from midday until 4 pm (14:00 GMT).

Nasrallah, a key figure in Hezbollah’s longstanding conflict with Israel, was killed in a targeted airstrike on September 27 while meeting commanders in a Beirut bunker.

Nasrallah’s leadership transformed Hezbollah into a significant military force with influence across the region, and he remains a revered figure among Hezbollah supporters.
