President John Dramani Mahama has addressed the increasing buzz surrounding government appointments, emphasizing that these roles are not only about recognition but come with the heavy responsibility of delivering results for the people.

Speaking to the Ghanaian community in Ethiopia on February 17, Mahama reminded officials that accepting a public sector position means they must be prepared to be held accountable to the people they serve.

“Those of us in leadership must lead by example, we must be prepared to be held accountable. If you accept to serve in the public sector, you must be ready to answer to the people who put you there,” Mahama stated.

“The green letter brings immense responsibility and expectation, and we must not only hold those before us accountable, but we too will be held accountable.”

He also highlighted his commitment to constitutional amendments, economic stabilization, and creating job opportunities for the youth, stressing these as top priorities.

“We may not complete everything, but I am determined to lay the foundation to put Ghana on the right track,” Mahama concluded.
