King Zuba Denies Involvement in Obuasi Thugs to Disrupt Ashanti Region Council of State Elections
King Zuba calls accusations a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation as he pursues the Kumasi Metropolitan Mayor position

Former Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Richard Ofori Agyemang Boadi, popularly known as King Zuba, has emphatically denied any involvement in allegations linking him to thugs from Obuasi, accused of attempting to disrupt the Ashanti Regional Council of State elections.
Speaking on the Ghana Se Sen Morning Show with Kwame Tanko, King Zuba stated unequivocally that he had no hand in the incident. According to him, he attended the election proceedings at the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) alone and has no connections to any disruptive activities.
“I’ve watched all the videos. Where in the videos do you see me causing chaos? At this stage in my life, why would I go and take a ballot box?” he questioned, dismissing the accusations as baseless.
The former MCE, who is currently vying for the position of Kumasi Metropolitan Mayor, alleged that the accusations are part of a deliberate scheme by certain individuals to tarnish his reputation and jeopardize his mayoral bid.
King Zuba explained that as someone who served as Obuasi’s Chief Executive for four years, it is not unusual for him to interact with people from Obuasi, but that does not mean he had any involvement in the incident. “If the thugs have any problem, that is their own problem,” he added.
He called on members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) who were present at the venue to testify to his innocence.
Reflecting on the situation emotionally, he concluded, “What God wants to use me for, it is His will. I have gone through a lot, but God is God. He has never disappointed me, and He never will.”
