President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Minister of Justice and Attorney-General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, to immediately launch investigations into corruption cases detailed in the report of the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) committee.

The directive came on Monday as President Mahama officially received the report at Jubilee House. The document, which details 2,417 complaints, was presented by North Tongu MP and ORAL Chairman, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, alongside the committee members.

Commending the committee’s efforts, President Mahama hailed the report as a pivotal step in Ghana’s fight against corruption. He pledged swift and impartial action, stating, “I have handed the report to the A-G to commence immediate investigations into the cases reported. Where prosecution is required, it will be executed without fear or favor. Every pesewa recovered from this operation will be reinvested into national development.”

The President emphasized that the recovered funds would be channeled toward key sectors such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social development. He underscored Ghana’s commitment to eradicating corruption, declaring, “Ghana is no longer a ground for corruption.”

Highlighting the significance of the findings, Mahama described the report as both a revelation and a source of hope.

“The scale of financial leakages uncovered is sobering. These are resources that should have been driving our nation forward. However, the report also demonstrates that through collective effort, we can reclaim our losses and deter future acts of economic sabotage,” he added.

The ORAL report is being seen as a critical milestone in Ghana’s mission to recover looted state assets and strengthen accountability mechanisms.
