The Chiefs and people of Anloland, led by Togbi Sri III, the Overlord of Anlo Dukor, have formally petitioned Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, to reveal the identity of the Member of Parliament who allegedly insulted Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP for Klottey Korle, during a parliamentary session.

The offensive remark—“Shut up, you daughter of a murderer”—was made during a debate on February 4, 2025. The Chiefs describe the comment as both blasphemous and defamatory, sparking outrage within the Anlo community.

Initially, MPs Samuel Abu Jinapor of Damango and Nana Kwame Asafo-Adjei of Bosome Freho were suspected but have denied responsibility. In a letter dated February 5, the Anlo Dukor Council expressed their dismay and called for accountability, highlighting the Rawlings family’s cultural and historical importance to their people.

The council has set February 10, 2025, as the deadline for identifying the culprit, urging Parliament to ensure such behavior is not tolerated. The Chiefs emphasize that the attack on Zanetor is not just personal but a slight against the legacy of her late father, former President Jerry John Rawlings.
