Goaso Traditional Council Bans Valentine’s Day Celebrations

The Goaso Traditional Council has announced a ban on Valentine’s Day celebrations and all social gatherings in 2025 as part of arrangements for the one-week observation of the late paramount chief, Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, of the Goaso Traditional Area.

Nana Kwabena Frimpong, the Nkabomhene and Chairman of the Planning Committee, made this announcement during a press conference held in Goaso, Ahafo Region.

The council has called on the public to cooperate fully for a peaceful and dignified tribute to Nana Kwasi Bosomprah, who was known for his numerous developmental initiatives in the area.

The temporary ban, effective 7th February 2025, also extends to funerals and other social gatherings. Additionally, residents are required to wear mourning attire (black and red) starting from 5th February 2025 until further notice.
