- Outgoing SIC MD, Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, allegedly locks office and keeps keys
- Newly appointed MD, James Agyenim-Boateng, forced to work remotely due to office lockout
- Duah-Yentumi reportedly in court, challenging her removal
The outgoing Managing Director of SIC Insurance Company Limited, Hollistar Duah-Yentumi, has reportedly created a stumbling block for her successor, James Agyenim-Boateng, by refusing to hand over the office keys.
According to sources, Agyenim-Boateng is unable to access the office, as Duah-Yentumi still holds the keys.
Appointed by President John Mahama on January 24, 2025, Agyenim-Boateng had hoped for a smooth transition in the leadership of the prominent insurance company. However, despite an initial meeting with the management team, he found himself unable to access the office where he was expected to begin his work.
Speaking on Accra-based Citi FM, Agyenim-Boateng expressed his frustration, stating, “After my appointment, I went to the office to meet with the team, but I was unable to enter the office. I’ve been forced to work remotely, dealing with critical matters elsewhere.”
Agyenim-Boateng also revealed that Duah-Yentumi did not attend the meeting designed to ensure a seamless handover. “It’s clear that the office was locked and the keys were taken by my predecessor. Additionally, I haven’t received any formal handover notes from her,” he added.
Reports also suggest that Duah-Yentumi is challenging her removal in court, seeking a restraining order against Agyenim-Boateng in his role as Acting MD.
