  • The neglect created a political opportunity, leading to Hammond’s 2024 electoral defeat

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has attributed KT Hammond’s defeat in the 2024 general elections to his long-standing disconnection from the needs of his constituents in Adansi Asokwa.

In a recent interview, Dr. Amoakohene revealed that KT Hammond, the former Member of Parliament for the constituency, began losing touch with his people as far back as 2023. He criticized Hammond’s inability to address basic community needs, citing the lack of essential facilities as a key issue.

“When I visited the constituency in 2023, it was evident he had lost touch. Constituents repeatedly mentioned their primary need—access to a toilet facility. After 24 years in office, he couldn’t even provide that,” Amoakohene stated.

The Minister emphasized that this neglect opened a “golden opportunity” for political opponents, ultimately leading to Hammond’s electoral loss.
