Former Employment and Labour Relations Minister, Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, along with Agyemang Duah Owusu, the owner of Nsoatreman F.C., and team official Kyeremeh Joseph, will appear in court today, February 4, 2025, over the death of Kotoko supporter Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Pooley.
Sports journalist Saddick Adams reports that the hearing is part of efforts by the Ghana Police Service to expedite the case. Investigators have uncovered key evidence, including two bloodstained outfits and an MP 23 pistol with 15 rounds of ammunition, retrieved from Owusu’s residence.
To ensure a swift and thorough investigation, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has deployed a special team to support the Bono Regional Police Command.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended the use of Nana Konamansah Park and imposed disciplinary measures on both clubs involved in the violent incident. The court proceedings will determine the next steps in this high-profile case.
