President John Dramani Mahama has inaugurated an eight-member Constitutional Review Committee to assess and recommend amendments to Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.
The team, composed of legal and governance experts, is tasked with identifying areas requiring updates to reflect the nation’s evolving democratic and socio-economic landscape.
Their work will involve reviewing previous recommendations, consulting stakeholders, and proposing actionable reforms to enhance governance.
Key members include former Electoral Commission Chairperson Charlotte Osei, with Professor H. Kwasi Prempeh serving as chairman.
At the swearing-in ceremony, President Mahama emphasized the importance of moving beyond mere discussions to implement significant constitutional reforms, calling the task a critical step toward shaping Ghana’s future.
