‘I’m Not an NDC Member’ – Barker-Vormawor
Activist rebuffs claims of political affiliation, reaffirms loyalty to the CPP amidst bribery allegations
- Barker-Vormawor rejects claims of being a "notorious NDC member"
- He reiterated his long-standing support for the CPP and denied any past or present affiliation with the NDC
- Barker-Vormawor apologized for an earlier Facebook post
Oliver Barker-Vormawor, activist and co-founder of Democracy Hub, has strongly refuted allegations of being affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
His denial comes in response to remarks by Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin during an Appointments Committee session, where Barker-Vormawor was labeled as a “notorious member of the NDC.”
Testifying before the Committee on January 29, Barker-Vormawor dismissed the claim, clarifying his long-standing political stance.
He emphasized that he has consistently supported the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and denied ever being associated with the NDC.
“Unfortunately, I must address the claim that I am an NDC member. This is completely untrue. I have always voted for the CPP and will continue to do so,” he stated.
He also apologized for a previous Facebook post but firmly denied allegations of implying that NDC committee members accepted bribes from ministerial nominees.
His testimony adds to the broader discussion of governance, accountability, and transparency in Ghana’s political space.
