The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining peace and stability before, during, and after the 2024 general elections.

Speaking at the 4th Presidential Peace Pact signing in Accra on Thursday, November 28, he emphasized the collective responsibility to uphold Ghana’s democracy.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted the historic significance of the peace pact, stating, “Every general election in Ghana since 1992 has had its own dynamics, but we have never turned our backs on democracy because it is the right path.”

Looking ahead to the December 2024 elections, he expressed optimism: “Ghana will win, and peace will reign. We are a shining example of resilient democracy.”

Quoting Mahatma Gandhi to emphasize his commitment, he said, “The day the power of love overrules the love for power, the world will know peace.”

He urged political parties, electoral officials, the media, and security agencies to work together to ensure the nation remains a beacon of peace and democracy.
